Christa Niederer (Dip. Optom. FOA (SA) is South-African born and grew up with two mother-tongues, German and English. She also speaks four other languages, but decided to concentrate on quality rather than quantity with respect to translations.

In 1980 she became a "sworn translator" for German-English and English-German at the Cape-Town Supreme Court. Although she originally studied Optometry and worked as Optometrist in four different countries she has been working as translator in different subject areas for years.

Presently, she is working as interpreter for the Federal Office of Migration and is registered as court interpreter in the Registry of Interpreters of the Zürich Supreme Court. She obtained a “Certificate for Interpreting at Court and for Public Authorities” at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.

She teaches English and German for adults at different levels and is SVEB-1 and EUROLTA-certified. She also invigilates at Cambridge exams.
